General Job Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) State and Federal mandated directives
- Comply with all HCDE Policies.
- Provide Occupational Therapy for children: 1) By promoting function, learning, and development across all domains, with an emphasis on adaptive behavior, self-help skills, fine and gross motor development, postural development, mobility, sensory development, behavior, play and oral motor functioning, as related to the Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP). 2)Through family education for families who need information on general parenting techniques that extend beyond child IFSP outcomes; 3) By promoting mobility and participation through design or acquisition of assistive and orthotic devices; 4) By improving the child’s functional ability in the home and community setting; 5) With severe motor delays with atypical or scattered skills or atypical tone; 6) With several global delays with motor being the highest concern; 7) With moderate to severe feeding delays or disorders; 8) With feeding delays or disorders associated with secondary issue (reflux, sensory issues, etc.); 9) With severe sensory challenges; 10) Who is receiving developmental service but also has documented need for occupational therapy.
- Provide timely direct services to children:
1)With all initial IFSP’s developed within the required 45-day timeline;2) With a minimum of 28 days to initiate all services;3) at the frequency and intensity as determined on the IFSP; and 4) With a minimum hours of monthly delivered services as established by current program expectations.
- Provide comprehensive case management services to assist children with delays or disabilities and their families in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, developmental, and other appropriate services at the frequency determined by program expectations.
- Conduct developmental assessments accurately and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
- As a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts, support the provision of specialized skills services through consultation and monitoring.
- Maintain accurate, appropriate and complete documentation for all required paperwork including progress notes, IFSP’s, evaluation and consultation, case management, transition, child outcomes and billing at the frequency determined by program expectations.
- Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedural codes for billing purposes.
- Review history of medical related diagnosis that supports the provision of direct services.
- Maintain ongoing communication with ECI through daily review of email and phone messages.
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings, transition meetings, and educational opportunities, as required.
- Work collaboratively with a variety of professionals, age groups, cultures, families, and socioeconomic groups.
- Engage in behavior with a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Maintain state license as an Occupational Therapist.

Qualifications: 3+ years experience is preferred, however new graduates would be considered.  Each state has specific requirements regarding licensure and/or certification, if needed.  We expect you would know if you are qualified for the work in your state if you are experienced in the field.  If you require more information to know if you have the correct qualifications, please contact your professional licensing or credentialing organization.
